U.S. Journalist Barbara Walters passed away on December 30, 2022 in Boston, Massachusetts.
Her trailblazing career began in the 1960s where she worked as a writer, reporter and news anchor for various outlets including ABC News, Today and 20/20.
But it was her groundbreaking interview segments that would draw people to watch her as she sat down with some of the most famous and prolific people of our time including Oprah Winfrey, Barbara Streisand, Mike Tyson, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Fidel Castro, Ronald Reagan, and Hillary Clinton.
She had been widely known for her tenacity to get the truth while maintaining a sense of professionalism and no-nonsense attitude, a great feat in a male-dominated industry.
After working as a legendary news anchor and journalist for over 50 years, Walters moved on to co-create and co-host the daytime talk show 'The View' in 2014. In 2021 she retired from the show, spending most of her life out of the limelight due to reports of her suffering from dementia.
