The private life of Britney Spears continues to be made public. She recently fired back at comments made by her sons (Preston and Jayden) and ex-husband Kevin Federline in an interview with documentary film maker Daphne Barak. Jayden was particularly open about detailing the tension filled relationship both sons have had with their mother. While he admitted that the relationship was strained 'I 100% think this can be fixed. It's just going to take a lot of time and effort. I just want her to get better mentally. When she gets better I really want to see her again.' Ongoing tensions influenced the boys not to attend her wedding or visit her in months.
Britney was clearly upset once hearing her children's comments and posted her own reply, specifically to son Jayden. 'I say to my son Jayden that I send all the love in the world to you every day for the rest of my life !!!!...Maybe dear child YOU can explain to me why our family would do that [conservatorship] to anyone!!! I helped your father who hasn't had a job in 15 years" She hoped her kids would understand her ordeal once they were older and could connect face to face. She also called out the father for 'smoking weed everyday', being 'a hypocrite' and involving the children in the documentary. She also sent her love to son Preston, noting that she was aware of his 'gift' and referencing him as the 'teacher in my life.'
Husband Sam also commented under her post in support, 'Mowing the lawn > professional baby daddy' while fans validated the singer's position.
Since the end of her 13 year conservatorship Britney has been making strides in exercising her new found freedom and finally doing what she wants to do. She recently celebrated the release of her first track in 6 years, 'Hold Me Closer', with Elton John and married her fiancé Sam Asghari in June 2022. Britney has been very controversial about the mistreatment she endured during that time. Her father Jamie Spears had control over her physically and financially as the guardian, an arrangement that Kevin supported.
60 Minutes Australia aired a trailer of the interview last Sunday and the station has since received backlash for the move, people calling the show 'invasive' and 'disgusting.'
