The hashtag #DeleteFacebook is trending after it was uncovered that the social media platform forwarded a teenager's private messages to Nebraska police. The 17-year-old sent private messages on Facebook inquiring about how to obtain pills to have an abortion. After a more than 20 week pregnancy, she was able to have it done.

The public is also demanding that changes be made in how much user data should be stored by tech companies. Social media platforms rely on this information to create optimal algorithms for customizing social content.
