JERRY SPRINGER DIES OF CANCER AT 76

Talk Show host Jerry Springer has passed away at the age of 79 due to pancreatic cancer, confirmed by a representative.

Springer was most widely known for his controversial show The Jerry Springer Show which first aired in 1991 and continued for over 20 years becoming one of the longest running talk shows in history. Millions tuned in to watch the drama filled guests with their wild stories of one night stands, cheating scandals and impromptu fights.


He also appeared in various films throughout his career including Ringmaster, The Defender, Pauly Shore Is Dead, and Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me.




Born in London in February, 1944, Springer moved with his family to New York where he got his start in politics. He then moved on to reporting where he eventually secured a spot as a television anchor before hosting his own show.


Fellow talk show hosts have offered their condolences including Ricki Lake and Steve Wilkos, who previously worked as a bodyguard on Springer's show before leaving to host his own show.




He is survived by his daughter Kate Springer.
