Actress Raquel Welch passed away this week at the age of 82.
It was reported by Variety that her manager confirmed that she passed away after a short illness.
Welch was known for her pioneering roles as the heroine in action movies in the 1960s and 70s including 'One Million Years B.C.' and 'Fantastic Voyage.' She also won a Golden Globe award in 1975 after starring in the 1973 action comedy 'The Three Musketeers’.
The sex symbol of her time, Welch also performed on Broadway in the 1980s and 90s, playing in Victoria/Victoria and Woman of the Year.
Born in Illinois, Chicago on September 15, 1940, she got her start working as a weather caster for a CBS station before landing a contract with 20th Century Fox.
