Trump's empire has taken a hit after convicted of tax fraud in a New York court. As reported by Forbes, Trump Corporation and Trump Payroll Corporation were found guilty of all charges related to tax fraud including failing to pay taxes and keeping false business records to hide monetary gifts, bribes, and compensation to executives.
The sentencing is scheduled for January 2023.
Trump's legal woes are not over. Another trial has been set for October 2023 for a civil case brought by Letitia James, the New York Attorney General. The case been brought not only against Trump's company but also his children and associates. The James alleges that the values of the company's assets, and Trump's personal net worth, were heavily inflated over the past 10 years.
This verdict comes after Donald Trump recently announced that he was running for president in 2024. H
