'Hawkeye' actor Jeremy Renner was recently involved in an accident with a snow plow on Sunday, January 1, 2023 in Reno, Nevada.
Sheriff Darin Balaam of the Washoe County Sheriff's Office held a press conference today detailing the events surrounding the 'Avengers' star's accident.
After helping a family member remove a car stuck in the snow using his PistenBully, the Marvel Studios actor was injured when the snow plow ran him over after he exited the 14000-pound vehicle. He was rushed to a Reno hospital where he had surgery on Monday. He underwent a second surgery today and is currently recovering in the Intensive Care Unit.
The Sheriff called it "a tragic accident" and noted that the Renner was not impaired. The investigation is still ongoing and the snow plow is currently in the possession of the Sherriff's office to determine if any mechanical issues contributed to the accident.
Renner assured fans that he was on the mend after posting a picture of himself with the caption: "Thank you all for your kind words. 🙏. Im too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all."
He shared a video late last year of a recent snowfall with a Jeep doing donuts in the snow.
Jeremy Renner is most known for playing Hawkeye in the 'Avengers' franchise and most recently stars as Mike McLusky in the crime drama 'Mayor of Kingstown.' The second season of the series is scheduled to be released on Paramount+ on January 15, 2023.
