CARDI B WINS APPEAL; TASHA K MUST PAY OVER $4 MILLION

July 19, 2022

A decision has been made in the appeal case to uphold the court ruling in favour of Cardi B and now Latasha 'Tasha K' Kebe will have to pay more than $4 million.

In 2019 Cardi B (real name Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar) brought a defamation suit against the YouTube blogger for making malicious claims against the WAP singer including her having a sexually transmitted disease, being a prostitute and having a child that was intellectually impaired. Cardi won the case and Tasha was ordered to pay millions in damages.

On her Instagram page @unwinewithtaskak Tasha K posted that she traded in her Cadillac (carrying a $1500 monthly car note) for a Prius and made the popular #IAintGotIt hashtag go viral. She made several videos proclaiming that she was not going to pay the judgement and was confident she would win the appeal.

The jury ruled in Cardi B's favour and ordered Tasha to pay damages totaling over $4 million as set out below:

1. $500,000 in damages to be paid by Kebe Studios LLC;

2. $250,000 for medical expenses;

3. $1,338,753.47 for attorney fees;

4. $1,000,000 for pain and suffering; and

5. $1,000,000 for additional pain and suffering.

In the midst of the appeal decision it's also been reported by vloggers such as Armon Wiggins that she most recently put up her Atlanta home for rent for $5000 a month (after transferring the home to her husband in a Quitclaim Deed). People are speculating that she is trying to protect any assets from being seized to pay the judgement.

Tasha K claimed that the appeal was dismissed due to "a procedural issue, not on the substance of our brief." and that it would be refiled in due course. She remains adamant that she is not paying the judgement.

Singer Iggy Azalea has also threatened to bring a case against the vlogger for making comments about her including leaving her child, Onyx.
