Marvel Studios has released the official trailer of the next instalment of Ryan Cooger's Black Panther franchise, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. There was some uncertainty as to whether the sequel would proceed to production given the death of its lead actor Chadwick Boseman in 2020 and, if so, whether the role of T'Challa would be played by someone else or completely omitted. The film ultimately decided to incorporate the death of the T'Challa character into the movie.
Most of the original cast will be returning including Angela Bassett as Ramonda (T'Challa's mother), Danai Gurira as Okoye, Lupita Nyong'o as Nakia and Letitia Wright as Shuri. Actor Daniel Kaluuya has not been slated to reprise his role as W'Kabi. It is unknown whether Michael B. Jordan will be returning as Erik Killmonger given the ending for this character in the first movie.
The film is scheduled to be released in theatres on November 11, 2022.
